“Signal Processing for Intelligent Sensor Systems" at the Institute for Information Technology

in combination with a

Management position at the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing IZFP

limited to a period of 6 years.

Technische Universität Ilmenau and its adjacent institutions offer a variety of starting points for cooperation in the field of information and measurement technology, sensors and assistance systems. When starting new research projects, particular importance is therefore be given to synergies with existing research activities and to the commitment to cooperate in the context of research and technology management with research sponsors and research partners.

The TU Ilmenau and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft have been cooperating in corresponding areas of expertise for many years. The professorship is associated with a management position at the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing, which includes the scientific, technical and entrepreneurial management and development of the center of exper-tise "Applied AI, signal and data processing" within the Fraunhofer funding model and the overall Fraunhofer strategy.

You competently represent the field of signal processing for sensor technology with a special focus on the application in non-destructive testing in teaching and research.

You have a proven excellent scientific qualification and suitable international visibility in the fields of compressed sensing as well as multidimensional and sensor-related signal processing. In addition, you have several years of experience in applied research and de-velopment in the field of non-destructive testing and monitoring systems.

The professorship is associated with a management position at the Ilmenau site of Fraun-hofer IZFP, so that a suitable fit for networking and cooperation with the IZFP as well as excellent knowledge of the German language are expected. In addition, experience in leadership of research groups and experience in the strategic planning, acquisition and implementation of R&D projects are required in this context.

In addition to professional qualifications, experience and contacts with associations, net-works and industrial companies are desirable.

The professorship at the TU includes mandatory conduct of courses with an extent of 2 semester hours per week. Teaching experience in the above areas is therefore an advantage.
