„Dataanalysis in the life sciences“

We are looking for an internationally recognized young researcher with excellent didactic skills. The successful candidate will be expected to advance aspects of the holistic development of data analysis in the life sciences in research and teaching at the Faculty of Computer Science and Automation as well as in interdisciplinary collaboration with other faculties.

We welcome applications from scientists with research experience in the following areas:
  • time variant and adaptive methods of biomedical data analysis
  • multimodal data analysis methods especially for large amounts of data
  • spatially and temporally high-resolution methods for the dynamic evaluation of highly dimensional transient biomedical data
  • hardware-oriented data processing
Interdisciplinary research collaboration across the faculty and elsewhere within the University would be an asset.

In addition to excellent research, teaching of undergraduate and graduate level courses in biomedical engineering in the bachelor and master courses at the Technische Universität Ilmenau is expected. Essential requirements are pedagogical aptitude and the willingness to make a significant contribution to the further development of the study programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in academic self-administration.

This professorship is funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States ( The recruitment requirements and conditions of § 89 of the Thuringian Higher Education Act apply. The position is associated with a tenure track appointment to a W3 professorship. Positive evaluation will directly lead to a W3 appointment.
