The position offers the opportunity for advanced scientific training in the form of a qualified PhD in the field of Theoretical Physics.

Your tasks

  • Research in the field of photonic devices, especially related to nonlinear dynamics of complex semiconductor devices
  • participation in third-party funded projects of the AG Lüdge, in particular in the CRC 910 within project B9:Stochastic and structural properties of complex laser networks for optical computing
  • Assistance in teaching for bachelor and master students in theoretical physics
  • Presentation of research results on international conferences as well as in peer-reviewe scientific journals

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a related field
  • Excellent knowledge in theoretical physics, especially in the field of light-matter interaction and nonlinear dynamics
  • Very good programming skills, as well as experience with numerically solving delay differential equation and partial differential equations
  • Didactical skills and experiences in electronic teaching tools are advantageous
  • High level of commitment and ability to work independently as well as good English skills
