These PhD positions will form the core of the “Ilmenau School of Green Electronics (ISGE)” funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation.
The Ilmenau School of Green Electronics explores the foundation of a sustainable information technology. To this end, the research projects are closely interlinked at the interfaces between bio-inspired microelectronics, intelligent materials, devices and technologies as well as energy-efficient computing. The position includes the following responsibilities:
Promote interdisciplinary research and help strengthening the research focus of Green Electronics at the Technische Universität Ilmenau.
For the doctorate research fellowships the ISGE offers a creative and vibrant research environment with excellent laboratory facilities within the Centre of Micro- and Nanotechnologies (www.tu-ilmenau.de/zmn), a comprehensive scientific supervision and study program as well as participation within a widespread international scientific network. Furthermore, it is planned that the coordinated doctorates are completed within about three years. The fourth year shall be mainly used to develop and promote an academic career track.

Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an assessment center on May 28th -May 29th 2024 at TU Ilmenau introducing themselves and their enthusiasm for research in the Ilmenau School of Green Engineering in a short presentation and have job interviews.
In principle, the job is also suitable for part-time employment. The extent to which a part-time request can be granted, in particular with regard to the location and scope of part-time work, will be examined on the basis of the needs of the service.
